Area Summary
Back to Map...
Known as one of Botswana's greatest tourist attractions, CHOBE was established in the 1960's, creating a sanctuary for animals from the land that was once the haunt of traders, explorers and hunters. The gateway into Chobe, which has become the Cinderella of Botswana's tourist industry, Kasane, was once regarded as little more than a remote, sleepy town. However, with activities such as fishing, gameviewing and bird watching fast becoming popular pastimes, the town is experiencing rapid development.

On the western side of the Chobe reserve you will find the magical area of Savuti channel and then further west on the Chobe boundary an African paradise is waiting to be discovered in Selinda, Linyanti and Kwando regions these beautiful wilderness areas will capture the hearts and imaginations of those that visit these unspoilt areas.

REMEMBER - We charge public rates for all the lodges listed below - we do NOT mark up the prices! Spend more than 3 nights at any lodge, we might even give you a discount!!
Prices are a guideline only, due to seasonal changes, packages offered and exclude transfers.

RATES: Most of the rates in Botswana are in US$ and the balance are in Botswana Pula (BWP) or South African Rand (ZAR). Some people feel the rates are quite high, please consider the following: The lodges/camps are in remote areas and unfenced so all the provisions, supplies, laundry have to be flown to the camp from Maun or Kasane. Most of the lodges are in concession areas, so a large portion of the fees have to go to the local community for various projects and income. Some of the lodges are situated in the National Parks, so the high Park fees are included in the daily rate.

SOUTH AFRICAN RESIDENTS - Please note the following: We will happily book your accommodation, assist you with route planning, give you tips and ideas, but this comes at a price. The price:- all your accommodation needs to be booked through us, as we survive off the commissions that are included in the public advertised prices, that are on our website.

NOTE: We do NOT book campsites and we do not book self-catering establishments, (if there are any!!). No profit in such a service:( (As julle dit nie verstaan, moenie vra om my julle te hulp nie.) We do NOT book campsites and we do not book self-catering establishments, (if there are any!!).
